I know it's been one hundred years since I've blogged, so I'm going to play some quick catch up. Here are some of my favorite photos from the past three months (most were captured on my phone or Scott's, so pardon the quality)...
Here are Jackson & Landon so excited about their new 'Mohawk Warrior' Monster trucks and their new Mohawks to go along with them. :)
Someone anonymously donates two Utah Jazz season tickets to the Utah Highway Patrol every year. So, the UHP holds a drawing with all of its employee's names to decide who get the tickets for each game. Amazingly, Scott's name was drawn for one of them! We couldn't find a sitter for Mason on such short notice, but the three of us ended up having a really fun time. And the Jazz won!
I volunteered Scott to be a chaperone on Hadleigh's class field trip to a science museum in Salt Lake. He was exhausted after following around this group of five giggling girls all day. :)
Here are Landon, Jackson, & our neighbor Deegan dressed up as the cutest superheroes.
These are some pretty cute superheroes too.
Jackson is the craziest kid I know.
Hadleigh has always opted for (and is really good at) dance lessons. This year, however, she decided to play on our city basketball league for the first time, in addition to dance. She ended up on a team of all boys, and all 5th and 6th graders. Despite that and being a complete novice, Hadleigh really shined in the end. As she became more comfortable with the game and her place on her team, she showed her ability to both shoot and guard pretty effectively. She is considering playing again next season and continuing to improve her skills. (she's #15 below)
Landon is obsessed with Monster trucks (and Mohawks) so my sister-in-law helped him make this shirt. Let's just say it takes a lot to get it off him and into the wash once he has it on. :)
Scott took Landon and Jack to the Monster Jam rally for a boy's day out.

Landon even arranged his goldfish snacks into the shape of a monster truck. Obsessed might be an understatement!
Jackson FINALLY mastered the nighttime aspect of potty-training, so I took him out for ice cream! His selection turned out to be almost bigger than him but somehow he managed to eat nearly the entire thing.
No words required.
When my sweet cousin Margaret (and her family) babysat Mason while I was out of town for work, she sent me this adorable picture of him. Who knew it could be so fun to have a bath in the sink?!
For Valentine's day, I was very inspired by Pinterest this year and really wanted to do something different. Hadleigh made these adorable necklaces for each of the girls in her class (including hand-painting the wooden beads, creating the different designs, and stringing them on).
Then, both Hadleigh and Landon made these fun gum-themed valentines for their classmates. Hadleigh made them for all of the boys and Landon for everyone. They were a little time-consuming but turned out really cute.
I covered an empty frozen waffle box with brown craft paper and Hadleigh painted it and added ribbon closures to use as her valentine "mailbox". It turned out so cute. She painted every single side of it! :)
I did something similar for Landon's, except I used a cereal box and he colored on it rather than painting. It was decorated with Monster Trucks, of course. I at least convinced him to add a few heart foam stickers. :)
Here's the Valentine breakfast I made for the kids...
I also made everyone their own little Valentine package to open that morning (filled with candy to go along with cute printables, kind of like the gum thing). Everything turned out really cute and was a lot of fun to plan and put together.
Hadleigh had crazy hair day at school and we had a lot of fun coming up with this at 7 in the morning!
Hadleigh's school competed in a district-wide "Battle of the Books" competition. All of the students were given a list of books to read at the beginning of the school year. Then, each of the classes that wanted to participate picked teams of 4-5 students. In March, all of the teams "battled" against each other by having to answer a series of questions about the books. The winning teams went on to battle other winning teams until there was a final battle between the top two teams to proclaim a champion. Hadleigh's team, the 'Reading Rockstars' was in the final battle and they WON! It was such a neat accomplishment! :)
Since last summer, Hadleigh has been working with a group of 4th graders at her school to prepare and study for a science-themed Knowledge Bowl competition, also district-wide. After months and months of hard work, the day of the competition finally came in March. Hadleigh's team fought hard and rocked it during their first two challenges, but, unfortunately they lost in the end. They all worked so hard and did their best. We were so proud of them and really enjoyed watching them compete!
Last week, Hadleigh and I got new haircuts! Thanks Tris. :)
