FINALLY!!

As many of you know, we have been waiting for MONTHS to hear about Scott getting hired on with the Highway Patrol. Yesterday, Scott found out through a UHP recruiter that they have finally decided to fill 10 positions that are open but that they might open up a new hiring process and cancel all of the people (like Scott ) that passed the rigorous hiring process but were put on standby in December due to budget cuts. So, all day yesterday Scott was on edge wondering if all these months of waiting and hoping were a total waste. But, at 4:00 today, Scott got the MUCH anticipated call from UHP saying that they want to hire him. Scott asked why they decided to hire off the standby list instead of opening up a new recruitment and was told that they ARE doing a new recruitment but are hiring a few select people off the list. Scott asked about a few of his buddies from school who were also on the list and it turns out Scott is the only one getting hired, which is is a shame and also shows how fortunate Scott is to be getting this opportunity. I am so proud of you Scott!!!

P.S. please don't stop being our friends just because Scott is going to be a cop but we are open to gifts of doughnuts ANYTIME!

P.P.S. This means we're going to be staying in Utah for a few more years (sorry mom and Chrissy- at least now we will be able to afford to visit you!!)
