I was fortunate enough to be invited by my friend Kara to go along on her annual high school/college girl's trip! We went on a 5 day cruise from LA to Cabo San Lucas. Needless to say, it was a BLAST! The other girls who came included Lindsay, Kallie, McKell, Brittney, and Natalie.
The first day of the trip consisted of Kara making stops along I-15 southbound, picking all of us up along the way. Kara set the mood by greeting each of us with a Spanish song blasting from her car radio and adorning us with a coconut bra. Kara herself, wore a bright blue Mexican muumuu decorated with a large parrot and a sombrero. :)
After filling Kara's car with five of us, we continued to Las Vegas where we stayed and played for the night and met up with the remaining three girls. Yes, Kara was still wearing the muumuu on the Las Vegas Strip. :) We shopped at H&M and then had the yummiest red velvet cake and frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity.
The next morning, we travelled the rest of the way to California and boarded our cruise!
On the second day of the cruise, Kara gave us all Sombreros to wear. So we sported them around the ship, laid in the sun, played on the water slide, and ate tons of yummy food.
Of course, at the end of the day, we came back to a clean cabin and an infamous towel animal.
The next day, we reached Cabo! It was the first of two days we would have there so we decided to spend it parasailing and taking a ride on a glass-bottom boat to Lover's Beach. Kara gave us margarita glass glasses to wear for the day, so we had them on all over Cabo probably looking like we were drunk or crazy or both.
There were several of these guys around the port, dressed in costumes and makeup. If you watched them you'd see them change positions every few minutes. Otherwise, it was impossible to tell that they were real.

Getting ready to take off!
Lindsay, Natalie, and me on the glass bottom boat, heading on a tour of the rocks.
The rocks on this part of our boat tour were covered with seals. It was cool to spot them but very smelly!
Here's a closer look...
We decided before the trip that we'd turn the cruise's formal night into an 80's night. So when the time came, we donned our ebay 80's dress purchases and teased, crimped, and hair-sprayed our hair until we couldn't stop laughing. We definitely made a name for ourselves among our sailing companions... if the coconut bras, sombreros, and margarita glasses weren't enough. Most importantly, we had a lot of fun!

For the second day in Cabo, we decided to do some souvenir shopping and then spent the rest of the day at an all-inclusive resort on a day pass. Between the amazing beach, unlimited frozen drinks, FABULOUS authentic Mexican food, and fun (but crazy fast) water slide, we had a BLAST!
Natalie, me, and Kara on the boat heading to the resort. (Kara lost her real sunglasses and ended up having wear the Margarita ones for real for part of the trip). :)

I promised Scott I would try the free scuba lessons if I got the chance, since it's one of his hobbies. So here's the proof that I did it. :)

This is me at the bottom of crazy fast water slide, but the splash is so intense you can't even see me!
If I didn't mention it, they had the YUMMIEST food there... and we could order as much as we wanted! I'm sure that between the eight of us we had at least 12 meals and 20 virgin daiquiris and pina coladas. :)
For dinner back on the boat that night, Kara surprised us all with mustaches, so we paired them with the sombreros for added effect. Eight girls walking into dinner, dressed nicely but wearing mustaches & sombreros definitely got the most laughs of anything yet. A few people even asked for pictures with us.
Kallie and Brittney with our cute waiter from dinner every night.
After dinner went to a show.
The last day on the boat was Lindsay's birthday. Kara gave her a birthday sash & crown to wear and we all helped fill her cabin with tons of balloons. That night at dinner, Kara surprised Lindsay with a special (yummy!) cake.
Thanks Kara, Lindsay, Kallie, McKell, Brittney, and Natalie for such a fun trip!
