house update & our new "home"

April 8-
the plumbing, electrical, duct work, and framing was done inside our house. Scott & I were able to walk through and inspect it with the superintendent which was fun to do.
This is one of the bedrooms upstairs-
April 10-
the shingles were completed on the roof
and the concrete for the front porch was poured.
April 19- the concrete for the driveway was poured.
April 26-
the first couple of layers for the stucco were completed and the interior of the house was dry-walled, textured, and partially painted.
here are some pics of the inside:

Scott's parents, who we were living with while waiting for our house to be built, decided to sell their house and move out before our house is going to be finished.

Through friends of friends, we were able to find a basement apartment to live in for as long as it takes for our house to be ready. We moved in last week, and it has definitely been an adjustment but it's an adventure too. It's kind of like being newlyweds just starting out, except with three kids and me being 7 1/2 months pregnant, and actually having all of the things we need just not able to access them since they're tightly packed in a storage unit. Had we known we were going to be living in an unfurnished place, we of course would have left out things like dishes and cleaning supplies. Fortunately, we at least have a couple of mattresses and a couch, you can actually wash & re-use plastic cups and utensils, and we found a toaster at Walmart for $6, and a set of pans for $29 (which also work great as mixing bowls!), so we're making do:)

The apartment is pretty small and has only 2 bedrooms for the 5 of us, but the location is great and being able to move in last week saves us from having to move somewhere temporary just a week or two before our final move into our house (which is what would have happened if we'd waited to move when my inlaws do). Now we'll have at least a month and a half break before having to move again:)

Here are some pics of our temporary home-

Hey! I linked to your blog from Kellie's, I hope thats okay?

What an awesomely, huge house! It'll probably feel like a mansion compared to a basement appt :)

If you need to borrow some kitchen supplies or whatever, I have a ton of stuff just sitting in the basement for...I'm not really sure why:)

I hope your pregnancy is going well, and all this moving isn't stressing you out too much.
