On Wednesday, December 16, Scott graduated from the Police Academy. He also got his Utah Highway Patrol car that day, although he still has a few more weeks of UHP specific training before he will officially be out on patrol.
In the morning, there was a ceremony at the POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) facility. It was a graduation ceremony for all of the cadets that Scott went through the Academy with.
Scott's dad was able to give Scott his graduation certificate because of his previous employment with the U.S. Government.
Scott was chosen (actually he volunteered) to give a speech as a representative of all of the graduating cadets. As usual, his sole purpose was to get as many laughs as he could.
After graduating POST, Scott showed off his UHP car that he had been given earlier in the morning.

Hopefully something I won't ever see in the future!

After a quick lunch, there was a second ceremony at the State Capitol. It was a swearing-in ceremony for the UHP POST graduates only.
First the new Troopers took an oath

Then they had to sign off for their badges and each Trooper had their badge pinned on by their wife
Picture time...
There was a bride and groom taking pictures at the Capitol and the bride asked to have one with all the Troopers:)
