happy birthday Landon!

Last Tuesday Landon turned 4! It was the first year that he actually understood it was his birthday and what it meant. It was also his first time having a "friend" party.

On his birthday morning, as is becoming tradition for us, we gave Landon a cinnamon roll with a candle and sang to him. Then he got to open a couple of his presents. (Scott was at work so we saved the big ones for the night).

In the afternoon, my friend Kara and her boys went with us to Ikea so I could pick up one of Landon's gifts (and because he loves to play in the play land there). Then we went to the Boondocks arcade to play for a bit.

After a special birthday dinner of mac 'n cheese with hot dogs, we gave Landon a Wall-E cake and sang to him again. Then we let him open his other gifts.

He had a fun day, loved playing with his new things, and couldn't get enough of the happy birthday song.

Yesterday was Landon's birthday party. It was a construction truck theme as that is one of Landon's favorite things. Seven of his friends were able to come and seemed to have fun. Landon was a little shy and nervous at first (very not like him) probably just because he didn't know what to expect, but he warmed up quickly and had a good time. He hasn't stopped talking about the party and playing with his new gifts since.
