It's amazing how much changes in the first year of life, and how quickly it flies by! I can't believe that Mason is already ONE! We definitely didn't let the milestone go by unnoticed, though.
When Mason woke in the morning, he was greeted by an enormous teddy bear holding balloons and candy. He didn't quite know what to make of it at first, but he warmed up to it eventually.
Then we ate cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and of course sang happy birthday!
I planned a big party for the Saturday after his birthday (to be seen in another post) so we decided to spend the day doing things that would be fun for Mason and making him feel special. So, after Mason took a nap, we went to Kangaroo Zoo and let him (and his 3 crazy siblings) run around until they were exhausted.
Then we got Mason his first Slurpee at 7-11. Since his birthday is 7/11/11, it seemed fitting! As an added bonus, 7-11 actually gives out free Slurpees that day since it's their special day too. :)
Then we took Mason to dinner at Chuck A Rama, where he couldn't get enough of the rice krispy treats. I'm not sure how we ended up at Scott's favorite place, instead of one of mine. Maybe that means I get to pick where we go next year!
