Talent Show
Two weeks ago, the student association at Hadleigh's school hosted a talent show. The program was entirely run by students. The sound people, back stage crew, the emcee, and of course the performers were all elementary school students. As soon as Hadleigh heard about the show she was adamant that she wanted to be in it and perform the dance she has been working on in her ballet class for an upcoming recital. One of Hadleigh's classmates, Maddie, agreed to do the show with her and they took off from there. Hadleigh had to get the music from her ballet teacher and even arranged practices with Maddie where they added some extra dance moves to fill in moments where other dancers are supposed to be dancing in the recital. I was really proud of Hadleigh for having the gumption and enthusiasm to do all of that. So, see ABOVE for the final result (it's set to different music though, since the actual video had a lot of background noise from the audience)...
2nd Grade Dance Festival
Last week, all of the second grade classes at Hadleigh's school performed in a 'dance festival'. Each class danced a different style to represent various countries around the world. Hadleigh's class did the Mexican Hat Dance. Here are a few pics from the day. At the end, all of the classes came to the stage and did the chicken dance...very entertaining:)
