Pony Express Days is our city celebration that takes place each summer. It always includes various runs/walks, concerts, a carnival, helicopter rides, and a parade (among other things). Last year, we went to the parade since Hadleigh was in it with her ballet school but that was all we made time for. So, this year I was determined to at least go to the carnival. We went to it last Friday with our friends the Andersons and all of the kids had a blast.

Landon with Kinsey on, of course, the train ride

On Saturday, we went to the PED parade which Hadleigh participated in with her ballet school again. We had a really fun time watching all sorts of different people, cars, floats, and performers go by. Part of the fun of the parade for the kids watching is that all of the participants toss candy out into the crowd as they pass. Last year Landon ate all of the candy he caught so there was none left for Hadleigh when we reunited after the parade. This year, I promised her we would catch and save candy especially for her. So, as she passed us in the parade she was chucking as many pieces of candy at us as fast as she could. Ouch! Maybe instead of ballet she should be doing baseball!!

Police on motorcycles were the first to go by
