Teeth

I have been putting this post off for a while because I had a vision of calling it "teeth" and talking about Hadleigh loosing a tooth and Jackson finally getting his first tooth. Unfortunately, Jack's teeth seem to be on their own schedule because at 9 months and counting he still has yet to get a single tooth. Oh well!! So, on to Hadleigh's lost tooth...
About a year ago, Hadleigh's two bottom middle grown up teeth decided to grow in even though her baby teeth were still intact. This meant a trip to the dentist so the baby teeth could be pulled out in order to avoid any complications. Of course, Hadleigh put the teeth under her pillow that night and the tooth fairy came, but the whole experience kind of lacked the magic of "loosing a tooth".
So, for the last 6 months or so, one of Hadleigh's top middle teeth has been loose but has made no effort to actually come out. Since no grown up teeth were growing in on top of it, we were just kind of waiting it out but it was starting to become a ridiculously long time to have a loose tooth. Finally, about two weeks ago, we noticed a gap was starting to develop between the loose tooth and one beside it as the tooth became increasingly loose. Then we realized the gums around the tooth were really red and possibly becoming infected. So, last week, Scott finally convinced Hadleigh to let him help her pull it out and when he did blood just gushed out. Maybe Hadleigh is not meant to lose teeth the normal way, who knows. Either way, she finally lost a tooth and she is now $1 richer after a long-awaited visit from the tooth fairy. Plus, she now has an adorable gaping hole in her smile. She was a little shy about smiling at first but now she will proudly show anyone her "lost tooth".

Taylor just lost her first tooth 2 nights ago at soccer practice. She was so excited because she's the last one in her class to lose a tooth.
