Hadleigh's Birthday

Hadleigh turned 7 on Friday and it was definitely a FULL day of fun. She opened gifts in the morning before school (thank you Grandma Debbie, Great Grandma Caroline, and Petrus family - you all spoiled her!). Then I put a candle in her breakfast cinnamon roll and Landon and I sang Happy Birthday.

After school, a few of Hadleigh's girlfriends joined her for a "rock-star" party at Justice for Girls in AF. First they got to "shop" for several goodies (lip glosses, pencils, candy, etc). Then they each had their hair styled and got to put on make-up. Then they played a crazy game of charades. Next they all put on pink headsets and arm socks and danced around the store and in the front window and pretended to be rock stars. They seemed to have a lot of fun.

After Justice, we returned to our house for a family dinner where we had homemade pizza and birthday cake. Hadleigh typically doesn't like cake or icing so I made her a rice crispy treat cake instead. It had a chocolate marshmallow filling, so she didn't like it since it wasn't a traditional crispy treat. The rest of us thought it was good, though, and it looked pretty cool. I'll have to come up with some other non-cake birthday cake for next year, I guess!

Happy Birthday Hadleigh. We love you!
